Texas A&M, led by head coach Mike Sherman, had a very good 2010 season. They just wish it was a little bit better and that they could have gotten over the hump. The Aggies started the year 3-0 but then lost 3 straight, all against ranked teams.
The first loss was a very narrow loss on the road against Oklahoma State, and a win there could have changed a lot of things for their season. Still, they reeled off six straight victories after that, before they lost against LSU in the Cotton Bowl to end the year.
The team was spearheaded by the fantastic defensive play of Von Miller, who was one of the most highly coveted NFL draftees this year. So they'll be without him in 2011, but there is lots more talent on the squad and they hope they can play to their potential.
The schedule starts very favorably, with three winnable games, all at home in College Station, including a game against Oklahoma State which will be big again this year. They'll have to go on the road later in the year to Oklahoma and Kansas State in consecutive weeks, but they'll host Missouri, Baylor and Texas.
For the Aggies and the football fans there, 9-4 was good, but it wasn't good enough. This year they want to shoot for the Big 12 championship, and Sherman and company believe it's within reach.
