New Tour! The "On the Run" tour comes back to the U.S. this fall with four shows in November.
Paul McCartney is one of the true superstars and legends in the world of music, particularly rock music, where he has been an icon now for about five decades. What's more astonishing about Paul McCartney? The fact that he's part of the most iconic rock band of all-time, The Beatles? Or that after the Beatles was done, he has put together another four decades of music and performances, from Wings to his own material, establishing himself as one of the most preeminent and iconic rock musicians all on his own?
Whatever age, era or style you prefer, or whatever you think is more impressive, the fact remains that from his days with the Beatles to everything that came after, McCartney has consistently put out some really fantastic tunes. He has been able to adapt to different styles and eras, while also showcasing his trademark songwriting ability and great musical and lyrical ability. Luckily for fans, this summer, they all will be delighted not only to grab up some McCartney tour tickets while they can, but also to check out some new music and releases as well.
The most recent studio CD was Memory Almost Full from 2007, but right now you can pick up his compilation projects, the aptly named McCartney and McCartney II collections. These are multiple-CD, digitally re-mastered efforts, including unreleased tracks never heard before, as well as DVD material, books with photos, interviews and other information, and more. So it's great for a longtime McCartney fan to dive in and get a large amount of music and other great items all at once.
This summer, McCartney is going on a North American tour, featuring some really huge shows at some of the best and biggest venues across the United States and Canada. He'll be playing back to back nights in Yankee Stadium in July, as well as two shows in Montreal and Chicago, and stops in Cincinnati and Detroit as well.
The 2011 summer tour is officially entitled the On the Run tour, and it's a great chance to see McCartney back in action yet again. It is brief, featuring only 8 shows, but it's sure to be special, and it's a can't miss opportunity if you get the chance to buy McCartney tickets.
Not only are his shows unforgettable, but you never know how many more tours like this he'll be doing, so don't miss out on your chance to see the man in action this summer. Whether you're all about the Beatles, his solo days, Wings, or all of the above, McCartney is a true rock icon now and forever, so wherever and whenever you get the chance to see Paul McCartney play live, you have to jump on it. |
