The Baltimore Orioles started as the Milwaukee Brewers in 1901. They were
a charter member of the American League, but relocated for their second
season to St. Louis. They were known as the St. Louis Browns until they
moved to Baltimore in 1954. In the fifty two years they played in St.
Louis, the Browns only made it to the World Series one time. That was
during World War II, when many players were overseas. They lost to the
For their first thirty eight years in Baltimore, the Orioles played at
Memorial Stadium, which they shared for most of that time with the Colts
of the NFL. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Orioles had one of
the best pitching staffs in all of baseball. That pitching, along with
superstars like Brooks Robinson and Frank Robinson won the Orioles two
World Series championships.
The team won a third World Series title in 1983 behind the leadership of
Cal Ripkin, Jr.

The Baltimore Orioles have been stuck in rebuilding mode forever. The problem is that they weren't rebuilding at all, and the team continued to flounder without improving and without any glimmer of hope for the future. Well, that's not true anymore, and with manager Buck Showalter at the helm, the team has some real fight in them.
They started the 2011 campaign on a huge tear, and have since come back to earth a bit. However, even in the tough AL East, they will be making a run to at least finish above .500 on the year. It's still about the future for the Orioles, but right now they are really loaded with young, special talent which could see them improving in a major way very quickly.
Behind the plate you have Matt Wieters, and he could be a star on the team for a decade. Right along with centerfield Adam Jones, who is an amazing talent, and Nick Markakis. Some veterans are trying to keep the team together, and give it some oomph, like Vladimir Guerrero, Luke Scott and J.J. Hardy.
So it looks like the turnaround for the Orioles is finally right around the corner. Fans in Baltimore, you don't want to be the last on the bandwagon once the glory days are back. Get your Baltimore Orioles tickets now and catch all of the exciting young, talent on the way up.
